Tea Packaging Advice: Which tin structure offers the best airtight seal vs. cost?

  • Hi! I’m in the process of launching a premium loose-leaf tea line and I’ve decided to go with tin packaging for its durability and premium feel. I’m planning to have my logo custom-printed directly on the tins to ensure a high-end brand image.

However, as I dive deeper into the sourcing process, I’ve realized that "tin cans" are not all the same. There are so many different structures and lid types, and I’m trying to figure out which one provides the best ROI, specifically balancing airtightness (aroma preservation) and manufacturing costs.

Anyone has any relevant packaging experience or suggestions? Thanks!:)

  • Glückwunsch zum Start! You're right—the lid type makes a huge difference.

For the best ROI, just go with Double Lid tins. They lock in the aroma much better than standard slip lids but aren't as pricey as clip lids. It’s the perfect middle ground for specialty tea. I found this technical breakdown of Tea Sealing Solutions very useful for comparing structures. Hope it helps with your decision!"

    :thumbup:Viel Erfolg!
